This year our goal is to partner with Pioneer High School in an effort to build relationships that will extend beyond HS and become a vehicle that helps students’ transition into adult society in a positive manner. We plan to host 5 events that will engage the entire campus population, and 1 event, which will help the graduating seniors to plan for their future and define a vision for their life beyond HS using a life planning tool called STORYLINE. The long term goal of our partnership with Pioneer is to decrease the number of students from the school who end up incarcerated or on welfare. One of the main goals of the Pioneer Project is to identify people who are able to create natural relationships with students who would like to become mentors. We will personally invite those who fit that bill to become mentors and complete the mentor training via Shasta county Youth for Christ. To get involved, contact Aaron Hayes at .
The Shack is a non-profit restaurant that started out of Living Hope Compassion Ministries in 2010. 100% of the proceeds generated from the restaurant are invested in serving those less fortunate in our community. The Shack is also a vocational rehabilitation program in which homeless clients are hired and taught job skills with the funding generated from The Shack. Every time you come and eat at The Shack, you are literally investing in the lives of those who are in need in our community. You are not merely offering a “hand-out,” but partnering with us to offer a hand up! The Shack is located at Living Hope (1043 State Street Redding, CA 96001) and is open every 3rd Sunday of the month from 10am-3pm. Come support a great cause and enjoy some great food! Bring your friends! To get involved, contact Jordan Storment at .
